Cup Day Closures, End-of-Year Make-Ups and 2027 Bookings
Here's a quick roundup of what's coming up at Shawn's Swim School as we head towards the end of the year.
Melbourne Cup closures
We will be closed on Monday 2nd of November and Tuesday 3rd of November for the Melbourne Cup.
Make-up lessons need to be done by the end of the year
- Our last lesson for the year will be held on Saturday 19th of December . We will then be closed for 6 weeks and will re-open on Monday February 1st .
- Any make-up lessons that you have incurred or do incur before December this year will not be transferred to 2027 .
- If you don't get these make-ups done before we close, you will need to pay half for those missed lessons. (If you have pre-paid, we will refund half your payment for those lessons or take that amount off your Term 1 2027 fees.)
- Late cancelled lessons and No Shows must also be paid for in full for your position to be held for 2027.
About "Late Cancels": these are lessons cancelled after our cut-off time. No exceptions can be made for cancellations made after these times, and the full lesson price is payable without the offer of a make-up lesson. The make-up system only works if we get reasonable notice; otherwise we won't be able to keep offering it. Thanks for your continued co-operation in helping us keep the make-up system going.
Bookings for 2027
We will be taking re-enrolment and time-change requests for 2027 from Monday November 9th .
- Keeping your current time? There's nothing to do. Your current position will be reserved for you.
- Returning, but can't come at your current time? Please see us at reception and we'll write down your desired times. The wider the range of times you give us, the more likely you are to get a position. Once your name is on that sheet, you are giving up your current time for 2027. We will hopefully be able to tell you by December what position you have for next year. If you don't get a permanent position, you'll still be able to have a lesson every week in a temporary spot (like a make-up lesson) until we get you a permanent position.
- Would prefer a change, but can still come at your current time? Ask us to put you on our time change request form. You'll keep coming at your current time until we can accommodate your request.
In the past we've been able to get everyone a position by the first couple of weeks back in the new year, so don't panic, you should all get a position. It's us who have to panic, because we have to somehow organise all of this!
Not returning in 2027? Please let us know before December 1st .
